At Rio Guadalupe Resort & RV Park, there’s one question we hear frequently, “Can we bring our dog when we stay at the Resort?” Up until recently, the answer was (admittedly) a bit disappointing. Because we LOVE our guests and their beautiful fur babies, we are working to improve our pet policy to offer more options for those traveling with pets.
Updates to Rio Guadalupe Resort Pet Policy
As of December 2020, we now have four dog-friendly cabins available with a 25lb weight restriction for all breeds, excluding service dogs. There is no weight restriction for dogs staying with guests in the RV park. In the past, we permitted guests to bring dogs into the RV park between October through March. Approved dogs are now allowed year-round in designated dog-friendly cabins and within the RV park.
Breed restrictions:
No weight limit, MAX of 2 dogs per site. All dogs must be registered with the office. Restriction on certain breeds such as Pitbull, Rottweiler, Doberman, German Shepard. We need to have a separate tab for Pet Policy.
Rules for Pets Within the Park
You are responsible for the actions of your pet. Owners are required to sign a waiver at check-in. Any losses or damages to Resort property will result in a minimum $200 charge to the credit card on file.
Non-aggressive breeds only. If your pet demonstrates aggressive or disruptive behavior (such as excessive barking), we may ask you to leave the park without a refund. All vaccinations must be up to date.
Children may not walk the dog(s) without a parent present. Your pet must be on a leash at all times while outside. Do not leave your pet unattended. Pets are not allowed in buildings or swimming pool areas. Pick up after your pets.
Cabins
$50 Non-refundable cleaning fee. No more than two dogs per cabin.
RV Park
$10 Pet fee per reservation. Per dog/per night. No more than two dogs per RV site.

Can I bring my cat?
Yes, you are welcome to have up to two cats in the pet-friendly cabins and RV park. The same rules and fees apply.
When the dog park is complete, will dogs be able to run without a leash?
You may take your dog off the leash at your discretion while inside the dog park. Remember, you are responsible for your pet’s behavior. The safety of our guests and their fur babies is most important.
How many dogs are allowed in one cabin?
There is a two pooch/cat limit.

What is the age requirement to walk a dog without a parent?
18+
