Join the community of New Braunfels as we honor veterans who served our country so that we may enjoy the freedoms they fought so hard to protect. On November 12, military associations will parade through Main Plaza starting at 9:00 AM. The parade will march to Chase Bank, then to the Comal River crossing the East San Antonio bridge then heading towards Prince Solms Park. Visit NBTexas.org for more information.

NOVEMBER 18 | DOWNTOWN LIGHTING & SANTA’S ARRIVAL

Kick off the holiday season with thousands of twinkling lights in downtown New Braunfels with the official Christmas tree lighting event. Streets around the Main Plaza will close at 5 PM and the program begins at 6 PM with a performance by the New Braunfels Community Band. Mayor Rusty Brockman will begin addressing the crowd around 6:30 PM and he will lead the countdown and flip the switch, turning on the thousands of twinkling lights.

Once the lights are on, Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive on an antique fire truck provided by the New Braunfels Fire Department. He will make his way to the Main Plaza bandstand where families will have an opportunity to take pictures with Santa. Pictures are being taken by a professional photographer and will cost $10 each, with the proceeds benefitting the New Braunfels Downtown Association. Please note that only cash payments will be accepted and no one will be allowed to enter the line after 8:30 p.m. (however, those already in line at 8:30 p.m. will still be served).

The New Braunfels Community Band and the Canyon High School Steel Drum Band will continue to provide entertainment until 8pm, when the streets around the Main Plaza will be reopened to traffic. For additional information about the Downtown Holiday Lighting event, please contact the New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Office at 830-221-4350.
